Safeguarding Children & Young People

We are thrilled that children and young people continue to feel part of the church family at Winchester Vineyard. We believe that God's purpose is for children, young people and adults to thrive as they follow Jesus and become all that God has intended them to be.

We are committed to our church being a safe place for all ages, and as you read on you'll see the comprehensive policies and safeguards we have in place to ensure this. In addition to these policies we have wise and mature pastoral leaders who consistently exercise good judgement and deal compassionately and clearly with the children and young people we serve.

Complaints Policy

We recognise that from time to time we may receive complaints from members of the public (which can include church members) about our services, facilities, staff and volunteers. Our Complaints Policy ensures that we provide guidelines for receiving and addressing complaints, for the benefit of the church and the complainant.

We view complaints as an opportunity to learn and improve for the future, as well as a chance to put things right for the person or organisation that has made the complaint. Therefore, we aim to ensure that

  • making a complaint is as easy as possible

  • we treat a complaint as a clear expression of dissatisfaction with our service which calls for a prompt response,

  • we deal with it promptly, politely and, when appropriate, confidentially

  • we respond in the right way - for example, with an explanation, or an apology where we have got things wrong, or information on any action taken

  • we learn from complaints, use them to improve our activities, and review annually our complaints policy and procedures where we have got things wrong, or information on any action taken etc
